1st December, 2021.
619 days since our first lock down day.
Visited Mum yesterday. Whilst there I rang Rimmington’s to get an update on her booster. They had hoped to come on the 30th November but had been hampered by the weather. The young man was concerned for mum and promised to prioritise it for next Monday. He will ring me in advance so I can attend. No problem for me. I rang Angela and updated Sally did a WhatsApp call and updated us on the happenings in Croydon. Gillian had a hospital appointment where more tests were done. Interestingly they gave her a Vitamin B. 12 injection and loads of prescription medication. Ken has also had ultra sound testing for prostate cancer. No results yet. Sally, who went with them, spent the time wandering around London around Tower Bridge. She arrived in Hull today where we picked her up from the railway station. We had a chlli supper and Sally prepared some lessons for her students in Bucharest
Compulsory wearing of masks in shops and on public transport started yesterday. I popped to our local shop this morning and there was a 50% adherance to the rules. On the bus from my mums it was 100%. Interesting that the demographic on the bus was largely over 60. The “non-conformists” in the shop were about 30 years old. I think that says it all. They don’t give a monkeys about us oldies!!. Do you, Boris?
Found a great little vignette on twitter. A short film by “charlesTdale” who I remember as the porter in “Casualty” who went on to train as a nurse. He is Welsh. He recites a poem called “Don’t be a dick” which, basically, has a go at anti vaxxers. Absolutely brilliant. I am now one of his growing band of followers.
