Diary 29

7th February, 2021

688 days since our first lockdown.

Boris has outdone himself this time. He knew when he mentioned Jimmy Saville in relation to Kier Starma’s time in the crown prosecution service, there would be consequences. Although his drivel was a lie, there are always plenty who will either believe it or use the fake news to their advantage. This time it resulted in the opposition leader being harassed outside parliament. It was all very reminiscent of the Trump era. One we thought we had seen the end of but has been regurgitated by a snivelling low life who claims to be our leader. Well, not mine. He should take apologetic action now! All his Tory MPs should be ashamed of themselves for effectively going along with it all. They should at the very least trigger a vote of ” No Confidence”. It may yet happen. Let us hope so.

I have rejoined the Gym. I am still not 100% but being shattered after just 300 steps is not good and I need to improve my capabilities. I have an appointment with the physio on Wednesday and my first session with a personal trainer on Monday. I shall also take some dietry advice to try and get some weight off. At the moment I am well over 100 kgs. I will target (long term) 90 Kgs but in the meantime will be happy to be around 95 Kgs by Easter. I have just had three pairs of trousers extended in the waistband so I may have to have them redone if I manage it. I won’t mind the cost if I achieve my goal to get down from 40″ waist.

We went to football on Sunday morning. My goodness it as cold and windy but we enjoyed a good game where we met nephew Paul and his wife who were there to watch Ryan, their son.

David’s situation seems to be getting settled after all this time. We will all be glad to see the back of this sad saga.

I have got a new phone from EE in Beverley. I had seen the rep in Hull and had intended to go there to finalise the contract but got on he wrong bus. However the branch in Beverley sorted it all out and I am now the proud owner of a new Samsung. EE have now stopped any association with Huwawe. I am paying a lot less for this phone and the camera, with 35 million pixels and a 10x zoom, is amazing. We are meeting Sally and Jim in London for a couple of days soon and I hope to get some decent photos.

We have arrange for a painter and decorator to come and deal with the lounge, hall, stairs and landing in May and I think we may get the same lot who did the block paving at the front to landscape the back garden. Nothing fancy but a good tidy up with nice seating areas. I would love to have ago myself at the garden but it would take me ages. Likewise the decorating.
