Diary 34

13th April, 2022.

758 days since our first lockdown day.

This entry starts with a bang. Literally. I fell down the stairs on the way up to bed and on the way down during the fall, I hit the banister post resulting in cracked ribs, a slight fracture of the pelvis and just general pain all around. Especially at the top of my left hip. Jenny made me comfortable at the bottom of the stairs and dialled 999 at 11.45 pm. It took the ambulance over 2 hours to get here so I laid on the floor next to the radiator, which, fortunately, I missed. The paramedics were brilliant and took me to Hull Royal infirmary for treatment. I had x-rays, blood tests, ECG and Blood Pressure Test and a full examination.  I am now on the end of my 3rd week and all is going well. I have been to see my GP who wants me to keep an eye on my blood pressure. I do have a monitor. I may also see if I can now walk without the crutches.

There is so much about our government, and as a result, my own country that I am very ashamed of. We have a government that is totally inept. It’s Ministers and MPs are mostly bent, fearful and/or corrupt. One or two try to rein Johnson in but is it conscience or fear of losing their jobs that motivates them? I wish I knew. The latest government scheme is to send male refugees who came on boats across the English Chanel, to that super luxurious country that is Rwanda in Africa. A country with about the worst human rights record in the world, although that may now have been overtaken by Russia. What are we doing!!!??

The Russkis have been bombing Ukrainian cities with impunity for weeks now, killing mainly women and children who are innocent of all that is going on. They have been killed whilst hiding in their basements waiting for a short ceasefire to escape the terror. The pictures on tv are horrific and all the Russkis can do in mitigation is blame the Ukrainians saying they did it themselves for propaganda reasons. Yeh. Sure!!! I think that on the world stage, Russia will be a pariah country and population in general for decades. Many Russians do not deserve the treatment they will get. We know what it is like because our Prime Minister has made the UK a pariah too and we don’t deserve it. We must have an election forthwith but that evil narcissist won’t call one. A by-election is due so it will be interesting to see how Khan’s votes will be redistributed. Now he was a nasty piece of work and if he voting public vote another conservative MP in, then their is no hope for any of us.

WE went to Leeds (early) this morning to take David to pick up a new car. A big 4WD Mazda. The weather was beautiful and we had a great drive. Well, Jenny drove both ways like when we went to Scotland last weekend to stay with Bill and Irene.
